Press Links and book reviews – oh my!

May 12, 2010

Oh my! The Handmade Marketplace has been out for just about 3 months now! And so much has happened in that time – I guess it’s time to start updating The Handmade Marketplace page. You can click right up there on the book tab, and be taken over to see all of (or at least a lot of) my reviews, quotes from readers and other fun press stuff. Signing Books!

Soon, I ‘ll try to make a Press tab, but I do believe that my web helper, one Ms. Laurie May Coyle, had her baby last night – so I can hardly ask her for help! Anyhow, if you have a favorite link or reviewed the book on your blog or website and you’d like me to feature it here, send me the link and Ill put it up!

xo, Kari

PS – Thanks Minna Lee Photography for this picture of me signing books in NC!

I am gearing up to start an Etsy shop, and after reading all of the great reviews of your book, I had to purchase a copy. The material is beautifully presented, inspirational, and quite welcoming for a business beginner. Thanks so much for a great resource!

I just bought the book this morning and am taking the time to explore your site and a few of the others that you have referred to in the book. I have not read more than a few pages so far, but already it has given me several ideas and tons of resources. Thanks! …I am hoping that it will show me a way out of the “I don’t know the first thing about marketing” trap.

I hope so to Mardi! Let me know what you think when you’re done. I’d love to hear from you again.

Hi Kari
I’ve just finished your book; it looks even more colourful now with bright yellow page flags stuck everywhere.
You gave me some really helpful hints and great ideas to help grow my bag business.
In your next book (we hope) I would love to see a section on how to take a craft business to the next step of having products fully or partly made by someone else. As you can only grow so much before there comes a point where you can’t keep up with production on your own.
My favourite quote in the book is by Liz Smith pg 209. I’m always judging my business success by comparing where I am in relation to others. Of course everyone will always be at different stage in their business and if they appear to be “ahead” of you so to speak, it doesn’t mean you aren’t doing a great job.
My blog about your book can be read here if you like http://faintimpressions.blogspot.com/2010/06/goodies-from-america.html
All the best with the book madness
