Hello! I know that sometimes just having an idea feels really big, and when you decide you want to actually do something with that idea, it can feel downright HUGE and overwhelming. It’s ok. I’ve been there before and I’m here to help.
My Book-Building Brainstorming session is a great way to cut through the swirl of ideas and the fog of emotions to get to the heart of your book idea. Over the course of our 45-minute Skype or phone call, we will discuss your crafty, food-related, or self-improvement non-fiction book idea, get you focused on the important aspects that agents and publishers are looking for, and get you started on the path to writing a book proposal, and getting that much closer to realizing your dream of being a published author.
Why am I a good person to be helping you with your book idea? First off, I love books. Like crazy-love ‘em. I love books so much I named my bicycle Library.I also happen to be the bestselling author of The Handmade Marketplace and Grow Your Handmade Business, as well as the upcoming books, Feltlicious: Needle-Felted Treats To Make And Give (due October 2013), and the 2nd edition of The Handmade Marketplace (due early 2014), the first edition of which has sold over 100,000 copies and was named the #1 craft book of 2010 by Amazon.com.
I don’t just do work on my own books, I have helped many others with theirs as well. I put my prop styling experience to work for my friend Alana Chernila to make the photos really come alive in her cookbook/memoir, The Homemade Pantry: 101 Foods You Can Stop Buying And Start Making. I’ve also been able to connect many fellow creative entrepreneurs with literary agents and editors at publishing houses, resulting in many of them getting signed. To be a part of making someone’s book dreams come true is an amazing, heart-swelling experience. In fact, I love it so much I’m making this a major focus of my business.
