Sweet! (and low)

December 6, 2010

You might remember Jen Skelley as the wonderful artist who did most of the illustrations for my book.  Take a look at the crazy cuteness she’s been up to lately:

Ha!  Get it?  Sweet’N Low?  Dachshunds are sweet and very low to the ground.  How cool is that?

What’s better than that?  Not much.  The mister sent an email to his favorite dachshund blog to tell them about the clip, and they not only posted it, but also a picture of our two little guys as well (click to check it out)!  I should note that dachshunds don’t really do laundry as the picture they posted may suggest.  They just lounge in it and soak up the fresh-from-the-dryer warmth.

Stu-stu-studio!

December 5, 2010

For a while, I’ve been looking at the possibility of renting a studio space, as I’m starting to outgrow my work area in our apartment.  I’m really excited to have not only finally found one, but that I’ll be starting 2011 in it!  Hooray!

This weekend they had Open Studios in the building where my studio is, so Eric and I went to meet my soon-to-be-neighbors and check out their great art.

Stay tuned for more exciting information about what wonderful things will be happening here.  I can’t wait!

Inspiration in New York

November 21, 2010

This past weekend the mister and I went to New York City to meet my mother who was up on a business trip.  While there I came across many things that I found to be very inspirational.  First off, here’s me and my mom.

We went to the Museum of Natural History where these arrangements of non-flowering seed plants caught my eye.  I know it sounds boring, but just look at how they’re arranged:

I don’t know about you, but I would love to have those hanging in my living room.  Whoever arranged these is a genius.

Around the corner, they had all of these huge dioramas set up depicting different regions of the country.  I loved this one the most because it’s like they modeled it after where we live.

Later, we walked past the wonderful window displays at Anthropologie which were fabbity fab fab fab.

I love getting inspired from seeing cool things like this.

For more New York pictures see my mister’s website.

Stay tuned for information on my next exciting online class!  Soon!
